Saturday Water Fun
A day where we have nothing planned and no where to go is very rare. Saturday was one of those days. We decided to get wet since it was kind of warm and we had just gotten new pools and a new swimsuit for Keileigh. We filled two of the pools, one full for Knut and Keileigh and one barely wet for Nevan. Nevan loves the water very much and loves to smile, so of course we got some great pictures.
Pretty in Pink
So after the fiasco of picture taking and Keileigh throwing fits, she decided the next day to pose for me and I jumped at the opportunity to take some of just her. She was trying on a new simple sundress for those above 100 degree days we get in the summer and was loving all the attention I was giving her.

Pretty Purses
Ok, I think I'm developing a great fondness for purses/diaper bags. I've had this fabric for years, waiting for a good project. After making the last one for someone else, this one came together perfectly, using up the last bit of denim from Nolan's overalls. Gold thread embroidery is on each panel with butterflies appliqued over that. There are three pockets on the inside, a pen pocket, a cell phone pocket and one for whatever. The butterfly fabric lines the purse as well and the strap is denim with a gold leaf motif stitched down the cemter.

Aunt Brinanana
Overall Makeover
Someone saw the bag I had made out of Nolan's overalls and was so impressed they asked me to make something out of a pair of their favorite overalls they had outgrown that had some embroidered flowers. They gave me carte blanche and just said to "be creative". Well, I had some great ideas and was able to make two of the ideas. The front became an apron with her initials in complimentary colors to the flowers already there. And the back became a purse with glow-in-the-dark butterflies.
New Ride
Knott's just opened a new ride called the Pony Express. To celebrate they were holding a "Roundup" where every child got a map to go aorund and get a cowboy hat, a commemorative poster and a bandanna. Then they had the photo spot at the start of the park set up and we finally got the kids to sit still to take pictures, but Keileigh didn't like that idea.

More from Bri and Steve
Monday and part of Tuesday, Brianna and Steve went to Disneyland with one of Brianna's friends from high school that worked there. Stories they brought back, sounded like they had a lot of fun. On Tuesday afternoon, we went to Knott's with them and got to ride some of the bigger coasters and take turns waiting with the kids. Brianna got to go on some of the little rides with the kids, so she was definitely a hit. Once again, more pictures were taken with Brianna's camera than mine, so I'll wait until she gets back home to get them. After they left on Wednesday, Knut came out of his room and said, "where Uncle Brianna, Uncle Steve go?" He couldn't find them and he was worried. But I think he had a lot of fun with them.
Other Visitors
Ok, we'll see if this works this time. I tried uploading this stuff earlier and it just wouldn't work and then a little person hit the mouse and it deleted everything. We got to have Brianna and Steve come and visit for several days last week. They got in Saturday night and stayed until lunch on Wednesday. On Sunday we went to church and then headed out to visit our grandparents. We also drove past some of the places we visited a lot growing up and went to the Redlands Temple.
These are from Sunday.
These are from Sunday.
For some reason after taking these, my camera's batteries died, so all the rest of the pictures from that day are on Brianna's camera.

"Friend"ly visitors
Last Saturday Windy and Colby got to celebrate their wedding anniversary by going to see Wicked in LA. We helped out by having Madalynn, Bryce and Gary come visit. When they came in the house, Knut started running around saying "my friends" over and over, he was really excited. We watched some movies, Princesses and cartoons, so the boys and the girls had something special to watch. We also had the pools set up so that the bigger kids could splash and play in the big pool and the slightly smaller kids could do their usual plant watering. We even tried the littlest pool for Gary so he wouldn't get scared by the bigger kids being too rambunctious.Madalynn was such a good helper in getting Gary calmed down and helping everyone else settle down.
