Still in Boxes

We've been repacking some things and packing up snow clothes and the kids commandeered my box for a while. They were driving somewhere and Knut got out a couple of times to bring them hot chocolate.

Promontory Point, UT on Monday

As if visiting the temple and having lunch and then faced with the long drive home wasn't enough, we made a side trip out to Promontory Point. Before leaving South Jordan though, we stopped at Panda Express, one of the many restaurants not found within a good distance from us up here. The kids had a blast, they love chinese food, Knut likes the chicken, all of the different flavors we get and Keileigh loves to eat the carrots and rice. We also had to stop and get some more transformers m&m's. Thanks Rick, I'm totally hooked on strawberrie'd peanut butter m&m's now.

Anyway, to the trains, the drive there was long and very lonely, totally off in the middle of nowhere, but Knut was totally jazzed about seeing the trains since there aren't very many up here for him to look at. We got to see the trains leaving for the night. Keileigh didn't like how loud they got when they blew their whistles, but she said "good night" and waved when they went away

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House

One of Nolan's friends was able to get tickets for the open house at the same time we did and Shalynn was able to come as well with some of her friends kids. The temple was gorgeous and Nevan fell asleep right at the beginning of the movie they showed before going in (he stayed asleep until we got to the sealing rooms). I'm not sure the kids really understood what we were looking at or why we were there, but it was great to go with them just to let them see a temple since we keep driving past so many.

Here are the pictures from outside the temple afterwards.

Church on Sunday

We went to church on Sunday with Shalynn and since Nolan went to visit with his aunt and do some computer stuff, we walked the few blocks over to church. Keileigh had a blast sitting with her cousins and getting to look at the same pictures they were looking at and one of them even colored a picture for her. Nevan was his usual antsy, wiggly self during sacrament, but he really loved the nursery. I stayed in the nursery with them, since it is my usual calling, to help if needed. Nevan fell in love with a certain car and would not let anyone else play with it. It had a horn and made motor noises and brake sounds and was just his size. After church it started raining, which the kids loved, but was kind of difficult for us to walk home in. We watched a family movie afterwards and actually got all the kids to sit down peacefully together. Just another relaxing evening in the middle of all that busyness.

The Museum on Saturday

On Saturday we went to the Wilford C. Wood Museum and got to hear some great stories and just visit with family. I didn't get to spend too much time inside as Nevan decided it would be way more fun to run around and make lots of noise. I also wasn't getting to pay too much attention anyway because my allergies were going off something awful. I'm going to weed through some of the pictures from that day because Nolan was taking shots of everything, which amounts to 125 pictures from that event alone.

Thanks so much to Brianna and Steve for keeping track of Knut and Keileigh, they decided you guys were pretty cool people to hang out with.

Nevan waiting for everyone to come back, he would walk from me to the front door and then sit in the very center of the doorway for a few minutes and then get up and walk back to me to repeat the whole process all over again.

Afterwards we went to get some of Nielson's Frozen Custard, a family tradition, for lunch and then we had a game night at Shalynn's and just visited, it was great.
